Maxie noticed Jamie wouldn't give him the time of day as of late. He was all right with it. He supposed. Yet, he was different somehow. Preoccupied with Sasha, Maxie guessed. And work. Always off the work he went. Seemed like a new suit each day. Rather dapper and quite industrious.
Maxie wasn't sure what he was expecting. Not this. Not in the least. He tried not to worry about it since he didn't want to fall into anything with him, ever again. He thought it might be a struggle to get things back to normal, but as it was he had Simon around more than usual. He had hit it off with Benji, evidently.
Those smiles of theirs. The light laughter. Love was definitely in the air. Sneaking down for bacon at breakfast just to bring back tea in bed. He envied them, after awhile. He hadn't meant to. As it was, things were so content with Katy, but she'd never talk to him about what exactly happened when she was missing. She hadn't wanted to go to police or anything. Just to go home. Have things just as good or better as they were.
"We are going to have a baby, you know, and that's all it should be about right now." She was all smiles So sweet. Irresistible, in fact. It amazed Maxie that he knew they had something so adorable to look forward too.
"It needs to be about you." He'd smile back, and every chance he got was to cradle her tummy.
She'd whisper in Maxie's ear every chance she got. "Look who's in love.." Her smile made him warm. They would look to Simon and Benji, and he could only hope they saw love when they looked at Maxie and Katy.
