Sasha was frantic. Not sure what to do first. Should she just go on to the emergency? No. No, she'd call Rhys. Let him know what was happening. The baby had a fever. It was so high. It wasn't possible, was it? It was all her fault. She was sure of it.
"What is it?" Rhys was in shock, too when she call him on her cell.
"Risa! I have to go to the emergency. She has a fever." Sasha was telling him this as she was getting ready to go.
"I want to be there," he said.
"You don't have to be," she said.
"Well, I will. I should be."
"I'll meet you then. The emergency." She didn't wait for an answer she hung up. Sasha hurried to make her way down the stairs. There was Jamie waiting at the bottom of the steps for her.
"What is it?" He looked concerned, but she didn't want to talk to him at the moment. She didn't want to have a thing to do with him, even.
"Its the baby. She has a fever."
"Well, you have nothing for a fever?" He questioned.
"I dunno what to do. She's so small." She shook her head.
"Well, come along. I'll drive you." He promised.
"I don't want to-"
"Please, its the baby, I will get you to the hospital. Safely." Jamie grabbed her by the arm, took his umbrella to escort her into the rain to Maxie's car that he had the keys too. She put Risa in the car-seat and she sat next to her pressing her fingers to her forehead. She was so hot. Why hadn't she thought of a wash cloth. Something to suffice. Sasha had never felt so helpless before, and she wanted to blame it on Jamie. It was all his fault. Wasn't it?
