There was a white tent up in the back garden a few days later. Sasha could hardly not notice it. She had baby Risa on her shoulder and was walking around with her as if she knew they both needed the exercise.
"What's going on?" She found Maxie in the kitchen. A cake had a came. A wedding cake. He was putting the final touches on in. There was a huge chocolate sheet cake and strawberry as well.
"I'm sorry I forgot to tell you, but we're having a double ceremony today." He put two couples on top of the cake.
"Oh." Sasha kind of smiled. "You and Katy and Cecil and Franny? All of you?"
"Yeap." Maxie nodded as if it were true and was making it so with little extra sugared roses about the cakes.
"How come I didn't see this coming?" She wondered.
"You've been a little knocked out, you know," Maxie grinned. "With the baby and all. But just in time. It'll be a celebration."
"Really?" Sasha's eyes lit.
"Don't look so shocked. You knew the day was coming." Maxie chuckled. "Better late than never."
"I suppose." Sasha set down with the baby who was asleep in her arms. "How's Franny?"
"Better than ever. She seems so happy these days. I'm sure you'll see her in plenty of time. She is here, you know."
"Really?" Sasha couldn't believe it.
"She and Katy are trying on dresses. They went thrifting. Hopefully they found the right one. Go and see." He told her.
Sasha nodded getting up with the baby and going down to Katy and Maxie's room. The door was open. Some music was on. Songs from The Sounds. She heard laughter then, and then she saw Katy zipping up Franny in a wedding dress.
So Katy was Franny's new best friend. How could that be?
