Jamie was wired at the thought that Maxie might leave him. He could only listen to Maxie for so long about how he couldn't go through with the wedding. He wanted to tell Katy everything.
"You won't." Jamie grabbed his hands tightly. They were up in the attic. No one to hear them. Katy was at the park with Tristan, and Sebastian was on his trip with Kelsy. The were very alone. "Don't say that." Jamie was so close to everything being perfect. "Why would you do that?"
"I have no choice," Maxie squinted hard. "I have to be honest with her. I can't go on like this. I dunno what to do."
"You will marry her. We will be fine." Jamie wanted him to listen. "It will all be amazingly wonderful. Do you understand!" Jamie felt his heart beat tighten. "We won't let anything happen to Katy. It'll be great. Don't start doubting it. Please!"
Maxie shook his head, no. He seemed so determined.
"What do I have to do?" Jamie let go and lit a cigarette then as if it would help ease the tension he felt. "You love her, don't you?"
Maxie nodded as he felt the pain from Jamie's grip on his wrists.
"And..and I love her too." Jamie turned back to say. "There. Lovely, isn't it? Its true. She's delightful, and we can't hurt her. We won't. We just won't." Jamie grinned then as he felt himself begin to melt down from the rush of excitement that Maxie had caused him. "And you know, I feel for you deeply. And...well.." He started to laugh. "Its very deep what you feel for me, I just know it. We can't stop it. You wouldn't want that, would you?"
Maxie just stared at him even lipped as if he was afraid to say anything.
"So." Jamie's eyes lit as he stared at Maxie more, coming so close, whispering in his ear. "You'll do what you must, won't you?"
Maxie just nodded.
Jamie put his cigarette out in Maxie's hand as he came around him and muffled Maxie's scream. He kissed his neck then as if Maxie knew what would come next. After all, Jamie stopped everything for these sort of afternoons.
